We've Come A Long Way Since The First Day Of Spring 2013

Of Our Home
When It Was Owned
By The Former Owner:

Notice there are no doors on the shed. We hired a retired Vet to replace them.
They were taken by my neighbor who reported them to our security office for violations of our HOA. The former owner also allowed this home to go into foreclosure. I feel that his irresponsible behavior lead to a blessing for my family and I. We were able to purchase the home for less than half of what he paid for it.  Thankfully the sale price fell into the range where I was able to purchase it without a mortgage.  I thank GOD daily for leading me here to this home that my family and I have been able to treat with tender loving care! This home and community is such a wonderful blessing!

Noticing that the Hydrangea are in bloom I am to assume this photo was taken in early June.

Just look at the size of the weeds in the front yard

Then the owner decided to take care of all the weeds and the grass by spraying a strong weed killer all over it! This home is uphill from an in-ground pool across the street.  After we purchased the home we replaced the electric lamp on the post with a solar one.

The following are photos after I purchased the home on March 20, 2013:

HOME SWEET HOME

Still a work in progress!

We have plans to purchase two dogwood, one pink, one white for the center of this front yard, and more flowering bushes for the gardens under the over hang of the house and to the right of the walk. The walk will be done by next weekend should the rain let up!

New window baskets this year!

We replaced scroungy shrubs with these fluted urns last year.

We hired a retired Vet to replace the shed doors in 2013.

"I want to encourage homemakers of all ages to turn their hearts back home and create a warm and cozy nest for their loved ones. We can't control what happens in the world, but we can do a lot of things to make sure our home is safe, secure and filled with comfort, joy and love. It's all about blessing those who are dear to our hearts!" Aunt Ruthie ~ Sugar Pie Farmhouse

Thank you Lord for all these blessings!

Yes, we've come a long way in three years!

When The Lord Makes Your Little Girl Dreams Come True...

I had always loved those unusual shaped windows in a home!
In the movie Pollyanna the elderly man showed the kids how the crystals from the chandelier sparkled against the walls .
The Lord Blessed Me with not one, but three fireplaces and a lovely family to gather around them.

We put the water garden in last year and added new stones this year. Along came Jeremiah the bullfrog to keep the fish company. The water lily has bloomed three times already.

I was blessed with a Japanese Lilac at the base of the lamp post.
The hydrangea was here when I bought the home.

Our property is 12,800 square feet allowing us plenty of room for a water garden, pool, and shed. Lots of room in the front too.
Floating aimlessly on the water in my own pool, in my own backyard!

Yes, the Lord  has blessed me with all those things that I had dreamed of as a little girl growing up in Alpha, New Jersey.  He brought me to this lovely community of Lake Wynonah, Pennsylvania. Lake Wynonah is a private gated community with two gorgeous lakes and many other amenities; community pool, tennis court, two basketball courts, several pavilions and picnic areas, a lodge with a restaurant and bar, and many service and social clubs.

My home has many other features that I absolutely adore and enjoy.  There is a huge window in the living room with the most awesome views of the sun setting in the west.

There is a shelf under that window and another over the sliding glass doors that lead to the deck. The deck offers so much to enjoy; nature and comfort.

Our home has 1988 square feet of living space.

I always wanted a home with a red door and it was the first thing that I had noticed
when the realtor brought me to the home to see it.

Who wouldn't love a bedroom that is 11'X17', just another great blessing in my home!

And every family dreams of having two full bathrooms! The lower level full bath adjoins the lower level guest room, and

has an extra wide door made especially for one of the former owners who was confined to a wheel chair.

In 1963 when I was 12 years old my parents looked at a model home that was a split level with the same type foyer and stairs as my home that lead down to a family room. I always wanted a family room from that day forward. Now I have my family room for throwing parties, watching movies, or playing ping pong.
I always loved windows with shutters too!

In 1993 when my husband Roger and I were married I had this Bible verse read during the ceremony, Jeremiah 29:11

I want to thank the Lord for all these blessings and making my little girl dreams come true. What makes it all so special is the fact that I am sharing these blessings with my husband,  my two daughters and my grandchildren.
